Privacy Policy

Quick Summary
I respect your privacy. I only collect what I need to edit your videos and run my business. I don't sell your information to anyone, and I keep your project files secure. To produce your edit, I work with a small team of vetted editors who are bound by signed confidentiality agreements — your footage is used solely to complete your project, and is never sold or shared with anyone outside that process.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Contact Information
- Your name and email (so I can respond and send invoices)
- Project details (timeline, budget, what you want edited)
- Your messages through the contact form or email
- YouTube channel (optional, so I can review your content style)
- Timezone and local time (to understand your local working hours and respond appropriately)
I may infer an approximate location from your timezone (e.g., city/region level). I do not collect precise addresses via the contact form.
1.2 Project Files & Footage
To work on your project, you'll share your footage and project files with me — usually by sending a link to your own cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, Frame.io, or similar). Here's how those files are handled:
- Files are shared only with your editor — to produce your edit, I may pass your footage and materials to a vetted editor on my team who is bound by a signed confidentiality agreement. They use it solely for your project and may not copy, share, or publicly post it
- Footage is treated as confidential — your raw clips, personal content, and creative assets are handled with care and discretion
- Access is restricted — anything you share stays private, limited to me and the editor assigned to your project, and is never sold or used for marketing
- Files are retained for up to 2 years after project completion in case you need revisions, then deleted
1.3 Email Addresses
Email addresses submitted through the contact form are stored securely in Google Workspace (Gmail). They are used only to respond to your enquiry and manage your project. I do not add you to mailing lists without your consent, and I do not sell or share email addresses with any third party.
1.4 Website Analytics
My website uses several analytics services to understand how visitors use the site and to monitor performance. These services may collect:
- Page views and navigation patterns
- Session duration and engagement
- Device, browser, and operating system
- Geographic location (country/region level only)
- Referral sources (search engines, social media, direct visits)
- Page load performance and error rates
- Click and scroll behaviour (heatmaps via Microsoft Clarity)
Analytics tools in use:
- Vercel Analytics — page view and traffic data, provided by Vercel (the hosting platform)
- Vercel Speed Insights — real-user performance metrics (Core Web Vitals)
- Google Analytics (GA4) — visitor behaviour, session data, and engagement metrics
- Microsoft Clarity — session recordings, heatmaps, and user interaction analysis
Important: All analytics data is anonymised and used only to improve the website. It is never sold or used for advertising.

4. Data Retention
We keep your information for different periods depending on the type:

5. Information Sharing
5.1 We Don't Sell Your Data
Period. I'm not in the data business — I'm in the video editing business.
5.2 Limited Sharing
We only share your information when:
- You give permission (for example, if you want me to work directly with your team)
- Service providers (payment processors, file hosting — they have strict privacy agreements)
- Vetted editors — to produce your edit, I share your footage and materials with professional editors on my team who are bound by written confidentiality and data-protection agreements
- Legal requirements (if required by law, which is extremely unlikely)
Beyond the vetted editors who work on your project and the service providers listed above, your files and footage are never sold or shared with anyone, for any reason.
6. Your Rights
You can always:
- Ask what info I have about you
- Request corrections to any information
- Ask me to delete your information (after project completion)

7. Cookies & Analytics Consent
7.1 What We Use
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the site to function (theme, navigation, security). Always active.
- Analytics cookies — used by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand site usage. Anonymised data only.
- No advertising cookies — I do not use cookies for marketing or ad targeting.
7.2 How Consent Works
My website uses a consent system that respects your region's privacy laws:
- European Union, EEA, and UK visitors (GDPR/PECR): Analytics are off by default. A cookie banner appears and analytics only load after you explicitly accept. This applies to all EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and the United Kingdom.
- All other countries: Analytics are on by default but you can opt out at any time using the cookie banner or the settings button.
- Your preference is remembered for 12 months via a cookie stored in your browser.
7.3 Managing Your Preferences
After dismissing the cookie banner, a small settings icon appears in the bottom-left corner of every page. You can click this at any time to review or change your analytics preferences. You can also:
- Disable cookies entirely in your browser settings
- Use browser extensions that block analytics scripts
- Enable "Do Not Track" in your browser (honoured where supported)
8. Third-Party Services
8.1 Services We Use
- Freelance editors — vetted editors who process your footage to produce your edit, under signed confidentiality and data-protection agreements
- Google Drive — secure storage for project files you share (private, restricted access)
- Google Workspace (Gmail) — contact form submissions are delivered directly to my email inbox
- Payment processing (PayPal, Stripe, Wise) — they have their own privacy policies
- Vercel — website hosting; also provides Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights
- Google Analytics (GA4) — visitor behaviour and engagement metrics (analytics consent required)
- Microsoft Clarity — heatmaps and session analysis (analytics consent required)
8.2 Their Privacy Policies
Each service has its own privacy policy. I choose services with strong privacy protections, but you can review their policies directly if interested. Analytics providers are bound by their own data protection standards and agreements.
9. International Users
Your information may be processed on servers in different countries — that's how the internet works. I use services with appropriate security measures regardless of location. Some of the editors I work with may be located outside your country; wherever they are, they are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations before receiving your materials. EU/EEA/UK users are protected by GDPR-compliant data handling practices, including the consent system described above.
10. Policy Updates
- I may update this policy occasionally as the website or services change
- I'll always post the updated date at the top
